Creating Characters from Imagination
Anybody who knows me well knows I've wanted to work in video games for a long time. I once worked for a game company, but not as an artist. Recently, I completed an art test for AAA Game Art Studio. They welcome sharing one's work, so here are my entries.
Phase 1: Character Creation
Phase 1 consists of creating a character based on a phrase. I was given "Snow Leopard Magician," and here are my three requested sketches.
Phase 2: Color Blocking
In Phase 2, I picked one pose and quickly colored it by blocking in the colors.
Phase 3: Final Rendering
In Phase 3, I rendered over a drawing that had been flatted. This was super fun! I spent a good amount of time rendering the character. This is my favorite part of creating illustrations: the rendering process!
Reflections on My Submissions
So, what do you think? Do you like my submissions? Fingers crossed that I get a job doing this!
A Cautionary Tale
Also, someone tried to scam me by claiming they worked at Jam City games. However, the person who supposedly contacted me actually works at Epic Games. After a little research, I found that this scam has been circulating for four years. They aim to phish and eventually get your banking information. I guess some people have nothing better to do with their time. Anyhow, have a nice day!
